This course explores basic stone carving by hand producing a stone pendant and a small sculpture , maquette, out of soapstone or alabaster. The study of form and composition, as you experiment with moving stone, is highlighted through the masters but the focus is your own creative expression while you connect to the material to find what is hidden inside. This reductive process comes in  beginners , intermediate and advanced levels with all materials included.
